Holidays are crazy, man. We were domestically and socially flooded for a solid 6 weeks — decorating, cooking, driving to see family, throwing holiday parties, drinking excessive amounts of egg nog while eating Chinese food and watching A Christmas Story in our fourth annual watch party and drinking game…
Anyway, point is, we've been very busy and not as attentive to this website as we'd like. Nonetheless, we did publish a new Fable and, more recently, a new Judgement, and we've been drawing up plans for some cool new things. More on that soon.
Speaking of which, if you like what we do on this site, there are currently two ways to support us financially. You can buy merch from our Cabinet of Desire, or if you want to help keep this site alive in the longterm, you can support us on Patreon.
Here's what's new and what's coming:
New Fable for the Dying: “Confessions of a Nixie”
Okay, it's not really that new since we released this like two months ago, but we want to make sure that we give Shelly Jones’ short story about a misanthropic river spirit all the love it deserves . It's a smart and sharp-toothed take on a domestic abuse revenge story.
New Judgment: “On Lyric Horror”
More recently, we just finished a new Judgment introducing our next Dissections series, which will focus on a bizarre and surreal tradition in horror films rooted in the lyric mode. What the hell does that mean? Basically, they're artsy, weird, and cryptic. We're gonna spend the next several weeks watching and analyzing some classics of the genre.

One more thing: we ended our last update by telling you about Eric's family's decision to have seafood on Thanksgiving. We said we would tell you how that went. … It was weird. There was shrimp, scallops, vegan crab cakes, Brussels sprouts, and nothing else. No turkey, which is fine since we don't eat meat, but also, no mashed potatoes, no green bean casserole. No stuffing or gravy or cranberry sauce. Nothing. It was very strange. Whatever you celebrate, we hope your holidays were relaxing and full of the foods you love.
